Different local authorities have different processes and guidance, making it difficult for MATs to establish a consistent and unified approach to moderation.

Schools and MATs spread across different regions often face geographic constraints, with travel time, cost and practicalities limiting opportunities to moderate together.

Without access to year-round support and professional development, teachers and leaders can feel less secure in the judgements and moderation decisions they make.

For many schools, moderation feels high stakes and procedural, rather than a supportive and celebratory professional development opportunity.
Through our partnership with Hackney Local Authority, academies, free schools, and independent schools in England can work with us as their statutory assessment provider, wherever they are based.
That means one joined-up service across your schools, clearer year-round support for leaders and teachers, and a more consistent, confident and celebratory approach to statutory assessment and moderation.
Watch Laura, our Head of Moderation and Assessment, explain the challenges many trusts face, what Pobble offers, and how our approach supports greater consistency, confidence, and celebration.

One joined-up service across your schools helps ensure national expectations are applied consistently, giving trusts greater clarity, alignment and assurance in statutory assessment decisions.

Through ongoing moderation support and professional development, teachers and leaders build deeper understanding and greater confidence in assessment and moderation decisions.

We create moderation experiences that start with what children can do, using positive, purposeful professional dialogue to celebrate pupils’ writing through a collaborative and supportive approach.

Academies, free schools and independent schools in England can partner with Pobble for statutory assessment services. Pobble delivers these duties through our partnership with Hackney Local Authority, regardless of location.
Yes. Pobble can support MATs and school groups located in any region through one joined-up statutory assessment service. This helps trusts create a more consistent approach across schools, with one provider, one process and clearer support for leaders and teachers.
Remote statutory moderation remains centred on professional discussion between moderators and teachers, just like any other moderation model. Sessions take place through a live video call, with writing collections accessed securely through Pobble’s online moderation tool so all participants can view and discuss the same evidence in real time. This creates a collaborative, supportive and rigorous moderation experience.
Moderation and CPD sessions are delivered remotely. Monitoring visits are carried out in person and follow STA monitoring guidance.
